The London Manuscript which, although currently located in the British Library, is a copy copied in northern Italy, acquired in 1420 by the Medici family. It compiles musical pieces by different composers, dedicated especially to works of secular polyphony.
Tristan, a hero and knight of countless attributes, is associated with music and, especially, with the harp, which he played exquisitely. Hence, we can well imagine Tristan himself playing his harp in the famous “Lamento di Tristano”, a well-known Italian dance that comes from a manuscript 14th century from Toscana.
