নাটকটির গল্প বোনা হয়েছে পাশাপাশি দুইটি ইউনিয়নের দুই চেয়ারম্যানের এক এলাকা ‘রূপনগর’ কে ঘিরে। বলা হয়, এখানে সবাই নিজের রূপ আড়াল করে নানা রঙ তামাশার ঢালে। দুই চেয়ারম্যান একসময় পরস্পরের খুব ভালো বন্ধু থাকলেও এখন তাদের মাঝে চরম শত্রুতা। তারা সারাক্ষণ একে অপরের ক্ষতি করার জন্য ব্যস্ত থাকে। ফলে দুজনের পরিবার ও এলাকার মানুষের মাঝে ই”ছা না থাকলেও বজায় রাখতে হয় শত্রুতা। এক চেয়ারম্যানের ভেতরের রূপ হলো চোরাকারবারী আর অন্যজন দখলবাজ। তারপরও রূপনগরে আছে কিছু রঙিন চরিত্র যারা সুখে-দুঃখে, কষ্টে-আনন্দে একে অপরের পাশে থাকে।
