India witnessed two completely different weather scenes today. While Delhi, Noida and Ghaziabad received the first rainfall of the year, bringing relief from pollution and heat, the Himalayan regions were covered with heavy snowfall. Snowfall was reported in Manali, Kullu, Shimla, Gulmarg, Kupwara and many high-altitude areas of Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. Several roads were closed, flights were delayed, and schools were declared shut in some districts due to severe weather conditions. In Delhi, rainfall improved air quality but caused traffic jams and flight disruptions at IGI Airport. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an Orange Alert for the region.
