The Leather Archives & Museum is preparing to launch a project to preserve and conserve its vast and history-rich leathers collection. Here's a never before seen glimpse into this collection and an introduction to a few of the preservation and conservation challenges at hand.
The project will be lead by leather textile conservation specialists and museum professionals. Leslie Anderson (International Ms. Bootblack 1999) will co-ordinate the program. You'll be hearing much more about this project in the coming months, including a call for volunteers and other assistance.
