South Korean passenger ferry MV Sewol capsized and sank off Gwanmaedo Island on 16 April 2014. Of the 470 passengers on board, almost 300 are dead or missing. Many of them were secondary school children who got trapped in the vessel after being told to stay put as the ferry sank.
In Singapore, some 60 ferries ply regional routes daily in Singapore waters. While it is generally safe to travel on ferries, how prepared are you, as a passenger, when it comes to emergency situations? Do you know what to do during a crisis?
