Women are being promoted to increasingly senior
positions in the United States armed forces. Colonel
Mary Marsh has just been appointed commanding
officer of a US Air Force fighter-bomber base at Hahn
in West Germany, where she's in charge of every
aspect of running it. She foresees the day when
women will pilot some of the Phantom jets that fly out
of Hahn.
