It has now emerged that the Mela administration sent not one, but two notices to Swami Avimukteshwaranand. The notice that was initially made public demanded documents proving his claim to be a Shankaracharya, but this was the second notice. An earlier notice had also been sent, of which even Swami Avimukteshwaranand himself was unaware. This first notice was issued on January 18, 2026, the day of Mauni Amavasya. This notice clearly warned that if a response was not received within the stipulated time, strict action could be taken against him, including a ban on his entry to the Magh Mela. This notice was sent by the Mela authority to two organizations associated with Swami Avimukteshwaranand. The notice states that on January 18, the day of Mauni Amavasya, Swami Avimukteshwaranand, without permission, broke through the barrier on pontoon bridge number 2 and proceeded towards the Sangam. A large crowd was present at the time, and Swami Avimukteshwaranand was attempting to proceed in a carriage to take a holy dip. The Mela administration claims that this could have led to a stampede, endangering the lives of the devotees.

प्रयागराज में चल रहे माघ मेले के दौरान स्वामी अविमुक्तेश्वरानंद से जुड़ा विवाद अब और बढ़ता जा रहा है। इस मामले में अब यह सामने आया है कि मेला प्रशासन ने स्वामी अविमुक्तेश्वरानंद को एक नहीं बल्कि दो नोटिस भेजे थे। पहले सभी के सामने जो नोटिस आया था, उसमें उनसे शंकराचार्य होने से जुड़े दस्तावेज मांगे गए थे, लेकिन यह दूसरा नोटिस था। इससे पहले भी एक नोटिस भेजा गया था, जिसकी जानकारी खुद स्वामी अविमुक्तेश्वरानंद को भी नहीं थी। यह पहला नोटिस 18 जनवरी 2026 को मौनी अमावस्या के दिन जारी किया गया था। इस नोटिस में साफ चेतावनी दी गई थी कि अगर तय समय में जवाब नहीं मिला तो उनके खिलाफ सख्त कार्रवाई की जा सकती है, यहां तक कि माघ मेले में प्रवेश पर भी रोक लगाई जा सकती है। मेला प्राधिकरण की ओर से यह नोटिस स्वामी अविमुक्तेश्वरानंद से जुड़ी दो संस्थाओं के नाम भेजा गया था। नोटिस में बताया गया है कि 18 जनवरी को मौनी अमावस्या के दिन स्वामी अविमुक्तेश्वरानंद बिना अनुमति के पोंटून पुल नंबर 2 पर लगे बैरियर को तोड़कर संगम की ओर जा रहे थे। उस समय भारी भीड़ मौजूद थी और स्वामी अविमुक्तेश्वरानंद बग्घी में बैठकर स्नान के लिए आगे बढ़ना चाह रहे थे। मेला प्रशासन का कहना है कि इस वजह से भगदड़ जैसी स्थिति बन सकती थी, जिससे श्रद्धालुओं की जान को खतरा हो सकता था।
