STORYLINE
Israel on Thursday continued to pound southern Lebanon following the capture of two Israeli soldiers by Hezbollah militants.
At least two missiles struck plantations on the outskirts of the coastal city of Sidon, capital of southern Lebanon, as part of Israel's efforts to pin down Hezbollah fighters.
AP Television staff reported four strikes around the city.
The strikes over Lebanon were, according to the Israeli military, also aimed at destroying Lebanese infrastructure - such as roads and bridges - to prevent Hezbollah from moving the captives around.
The Khardali bridge, near the border with Israel, was destroyed on Thursday.
However, the raids have killed at least 35 civilians in southern Lebanon alone, and injured 52. Among the casualties, several young children.
It is Israel's heaviest air campaign against Lebanon in 24 years.
