At the School of Engineering at RMIT University, Prof. Pier Marzocca and his team have been working with LEAP Australia, the Defence Science & Technology Group and the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) to conduct research on the use of emerging digital technologies such as Digital Twin, physics-based simulations and Augmented Reality (AR) tools to support NexGen aircraft sustainment.
Watch this video to see how a retired PC-9/A aircraft, located at RMIT University Bundoora campus, serves as a research testbed using Augmented Reality (AR) experiences developed by RMIT researchers using Vuforia Studio, ThingWorx and Ansys Multiphysics simulations. This cutting-edge project aims to further RMIT's learning and teaching capabilities and provides an ongoing research platform.
