Mundi’s leader, Tamara Smith was inspired after reading a hilarious article about problematic monkeys in a five star resort in the Caribbean. The Monkeys would descend from the coconut palms, scull back the cocktails as the patrons swam in the pool and as the monkeys got more drunk they would wreak havoc!
She composed a fittingly eccentric piece of music and later, for the 2019 Christchurch Arts Fest, commissioned her artist father, Ashley Smith to create a clip that could play during its performance. He subsequently added other performance clips.
