In this Vidped, I speak about my journey shaped by a deep love for economics and quantitative thinking. As a B.Sc. Economics, Mathematics, and Statistics student, I discovered a strong inclination toward statistics, which led me to pursue actuarial science alongside my degree, a professional qualification focused on studying risk, understanding uncertainty, and using mathematics and statistics to predict and prepare for future financial outcomes.
I also share my experience as a national-level baseball player and what it means to pursue baseball in India - the discipline, the limited visibility of the sport, and how it shaped my resilience and mindset. Alongside seven years in dramatics, these experiences helped build confidence and perspective beyond the classroom.
Beyond academics, I enjoy experimenting and building - from holding a leadership role in the Entrepreneurship Cell to working on a startup idea, MOD (Manpower on Demand), which aims to reduce employment gaps for daily wage and blue-collar workers by better connecting labour supply with demand.
I also discuss our ongoing environmental research project studying soil, water, and air interactions in Bangalore, and my excitement for my upcoming summer internship at Goldman Sachs.
