The view of the Makalu Peak from Tinjure Danda is among the best in the world. Furthermore, Tinjure Ridge is also famous for its myriad of rhododendron species lining the trail.
Tinjure popularly known as the century's Rhododendron capital, is located in ancestral lands (Terhathum, Sankhuwasabha and Taplejung districts) of Yakthung, Rai, of eastern Nepal that covers an area of 558 square kilometers has been declared National Rhododendron Environmental Conservation Area.
Tinjure Milke Jaljale (TMJ) Rhododendrons
Known as the “Rhododendron Capital of the Himalayas,” Nepal's Tinjure-Milkhe-Jaljale Forest complex contains 28 out of 32 species of rhododendrons found within the country. The rhododendron forests in the highlands of Eastern Nepal are home to a wealth of endangered species.
