I believe the secret to a good mamak mee goreng is in the sauce. I am certain each mamak mee goreng cook has his/her own secret in making the sauce. That is why if you go and try from one hawker stall to another hawker stall, the mee goreng can be quite different. In this video, I will show you how to make your own mamak mee goreng sauce at home. This may or may not be authentic to a mamak mee goreng street stall but it is good enough for me to eat at home. You can, of course, vary and adjust the sauce and add other sauces to your own taste and liking.
