The Issue with Hazbin Hotel Redesigns (Response to LavenderTowne)

Описание: Since as far back as i can remember there’s been debate and discourse surrounding vivziepop and her unique artstyle. I myself have made several videos on this topic, especially one 5 months ago which is a good introduction to the discussion.

Hand in hand with vivzie’s artstyle is fan redesigns of her characters. Redesigning done right can be a fun way to put a spin on someone else’s character, and opening up discussion around the characters. However done wrong, it can be insulting to the artist and can come across as bad faith.

A year ago i made a controversy iceberg where i discussed a situation from 2 years back when youtuber meppity did a video redesigning the hazbin cast and it was a complete disaster. Recently a similar situation happened and it actually spiralled alot. This was visible in the title screen but please don’t harass anyone mentioned in this video. This video is just to discuss the situation, some of my issues with the video and the concept of redesigns as a whole in a respectful manner.
