We are glad to announce that Funosa has realized a profound modernization of its melting plant during the month of August 2014. This important project has been completed successfully and well within the planned time span. Early in August the cupola head was removed and the scrapping of the old cupola shaft and siphons was done, removing tons of steel and refractory materials. On August 5th the new pre-constructed Cupola shaft and new siphons arrived by truck.
On August the 7th the new shaft was lifted and together with the new siphons, were put in their place, see center image.
