জামায়াতে ইসলামীর আমির ডা. শফিকুর রহমান বলেছেন নির্বাচন অনুষ্ঠিত হওয়ার আগে ২টি শর্ত পূরণ করতে হবে। তা হলো- প্রয়োজনীয় সংস্কার ও ফ্যাসিস্টদের বিচার তারপর সঠিক নির্বাচন । নির্বাচনের আগে দৃশ্যমান, গ্রহণযোগ্য এবং মৌলিক সংস্কার প্রয়োজন। সংস্কার প্রক্রিয়ায় আমরা সরকারকে সহায়তা করতে চাই। সংস্কার ছাড়া নির্বাচন নয়। এছাড়া নির্বাচনী পরিবেশ, সুষ্ঠু নির্বাচন হতে হবে। আজ শনিবার (১৯ এপ্রিল) দুপুরে তিস্তা মহাপরিকল্পনা দ্রুত বাস্তবায়ন, ফ্যাসিস্ট ও তার দোসরদের বিচার, বৈষম্যমুক্ত রাষ্ট্র বিনির্মানে প্রয়োজনী সংস্কার ও নির্বাচন এবং ন্যায় ও ইনসাফভিত্তিক বাংলাদেশ গড়ার লক্ষে লালমনিরহাট জেলা জামায়াতে ইসলামীর আয়োজনে এক জনসভায় প্রধান অতিথির বক্তব্যে এসব কথা বলেন।
