The wonderful 2019 spring crop of bluebells in the pretty parkland walks from the high street to the sea in Southbourne and Boscombe, Fisherman's Walk, which runs from Wentworth Road (almost Southbourne Grove) to Southbourne Overcliff Drive at the Fisherman's Walk Cliff Lift, Woodland Walk, which runs from Christchurch Road in Boscombe to Boscombe Overcliff Drive just West of Portman Ravine, and Shelley Park, alongside Chesil Avenue, which reaches the cliff top just to the East of Manor Steps Zig Zag. The clifftop paths of Boscombe and Soutbourne Overcliff, now boldly described as a nature reserve, have also been inundated with bluebells this year - I don't recall seeing them in such quantities before! Here we see them growing in the salty air, among the gorse bushes. Finally, a look at some driveways and gardens around Southbourne, also, this year, alive with bluebells.
