Join us for a relaxing snorkel on the North Norfolk Chalk Reef in 'The Gullies' an area of rugged chalk just offshore of RNLI Sheringham Lifeboat station.
People are often surprised about the UK snorkelling possibilities, especially that you can snorkel in the North Sea!
As you can see, the Norfolk chalk reef aka the Cromer shoal chalk
Beds have a host of interesting sealife and in this video we see a rainbow of seaweeds, wrasse, sea bass, velvet swimming crab, brown crab & lobster.
An underwater safari only accessible due to the specific sea conditions required for the water to clear enough to snorkel this close to the shore.
Thanks to my snorkel buddy Liam.
To get steadier footage I did also wear a small air tank to allow more steady-time on the sea floor to film the critters so it was technically a snorkel/shallow scuba dive (snuba?) but all of this is accessible by snorkelling as Liam shows.
Filmed on DJI Action 4 & Lumix GH5 in underwater housing.
