Pax 2 Unboxing

The Pax 2 comes in a sleek white box with a very clean design. It is very odd that there is no indication whether this is the Pax 2 or not. We are unsure why it doesn't have that right on the box.

The box actually has the instructions on it but they are not very detailed and you probably need to go online to get an in-depth instruction manual.

To open, you just pull the little tab and you can immediately see the unit. The Pax 2 is a very basic unit, looks very similar to the original model but is around 25% smaller and comes with a few minor differences.

On the top is the mouthpiece, it is a flat surface and doesn't pop out like the original model. The sole button is integrated to the mouthpiece. It is difficult to get the mouthpiece off if you don't have long enough nails.

On the back center is the charging connectors. This will be used with the charger later.

On the bottom of the unit, there's an all metal bowl. Again, the bottom bowl cover was attached as we feel it would be so easy to lose it. The bowl is similar to the original Pax. It's an all metal bowl but a little deeper and smaller.

We have found out that the unit will not turn on if you press and hold the button. You actually have to click it on.

The Pax 2 has four temperature settings ranging from 360 - 420 degrees Fahrenheit.

Underneath the unit in the box are the charging kit and a cleaning kit. The cleaning kit comes with some pipe cleaners, some Isopropyl alchohol and an extended mouthpiece. The extended mouthpiece goes on top of the unit and is slightly slimmer than the original model and doesn't protrude as far.

Moving on the other box, we have the charging kit. The charger comes with a USB dock and a USB cable. The USB technology us great but we wished that it's a true USB into the device, unfortunately, you have to use the proprietary little charging port. The charger is a big improvement over the original but we sure do wanted to use it while charging. Again, you cannot. The Pax 2 just snaps on the charging dock but again you can't use either models while charging it.

The Pax 2 is designed very sleek and simplistic but we believe big concerns still remain - the pieces might get lost, the flavor from the metal path and the bowl and the battery life.
