Dedicated to one of the most amazing people I've ever met on this earth. This blindly bright light that shines above common and ordinary; a light surrounded by the silent laughter of darkness. The most beautiful light among the shadows of the quiet, intimate night.

Merry Christmas, Light! This wasn't supposed to take me so long, I know, but it seems life caught up with me -in the good sense of the word-. Honestly, I never thought I would end up this messed up and crazy about this tv show. I was wrong, I fell pretty hard on the trap, YOUR trap. And because of you and your stupid excitement involving Jemily four months ago and my stupid heart falling for them a few weeks later, now this gay fanvid that should has been finished two-and-a-half months ago turns into your Christmas present -I needed an excuse, deal with it.

Do you want to know why it took me so long? Here's the story.

I'm only a small-island girl from and living in Spain, a country where Criminal Minds has always been broadcast in television since I was a young teenager... Wait no, who I want to fool, I was a primary-school child. I never minded that tv show, I don't even remember its existence when I think of those old times. I only knew of it because of a few random episodes my parents bumped into while zapping.

So imagine my reaction when you, a girl I met on Tumblr because of her incredible writing skills in Supergirl fandom (links at the end), told me overly excited about this ship you was falling in love with. Your text read, "I read a fic the other day from a different ship and I'm trying so hard not to jump fandoms yet because there's so much Kalex I want to write. But look at her". Then you sent me four pictures of AJ. (Funny fact: you didn't jump fandoms, you actually made ME jump fandoms.)

My gay neurons were struck dead right away, so I googled the ship and couldn't help the odd feeling that burst inside me... The tv show looked so familiar, but I couldn't place where or when I had seen it. And later, you started to send me those fluffy fanfics you liked, to the point I began asking for more.

Back then I used to spend a lot of time on youtube, looking for Kahra fanvids. One day, Google apparently thought I had read enough Jemily fanfiction and it was time for me to start watching Jemily fanvids. This is the only explanation that comes to my mind everytime I try to understand why they just popped up out of nowhere in my youtube recommendations.

One night, before going to sleep, I clicked on a LotS video and I felt in love with it, not because of the images but because of the power of the song they had chosen. I replayed it a couple of times and then fell asleep listening to "Run" by Leona Lewis.

The next morning, October 7th, when I woke up, I opened Youtube app on my phone in order to watch said video again. Nevertheless, Internet had other plans for me. It threw a recommendation right to my face, one I couldn't ignore because you, Light, had already told me about 200. So LotS vid forgotten, I clicked on "Criminal Minds Behind The Scenes: 200".

That was my downfall.

Without actually having watched a single CM episode, I decided to watch 200 while having lunch, because who needs to know about the previous seasons, right? Once I was done with it, all I could think about was how epic and emotionally powerful this story would be combined with that Leona Lewis song I had found out the night before. How nice it would be to do it for you and show you the result.

And thus, the rest is history.

I trimmed, saved and classified more than 500 Jemily takes and scenes from s2 to s7, plus the 200 episode, for two whole months. It shouldn't have taken me that long, I had planned to get it done in two weeks to say the least. All I needed to do was to find and trim the Jemily moments. Instead, I spent Fall swallowing down episode after episode. The more I watched, the more I fell in love with this team.

I owe you a lot, Light. Your friendship, your fanfictions, my nickname, this CANON ship, and even my first tattoo as you were who introduced me to otp:Blackbird ❤️🐦 and gave me the perfect image to represent overcoming, change and rebirth.

So once again... Merry Jemily Christmas, you mapache!
