Martin decided to bring his summer wheels for a fresh layer of paint. Soon you will see what the new look on the BMW CSL wheels are (there is a reason to be excited hehe).

New painted wheels look at its best in clean and detailed wheel arches. In this video we show you steps to undertake to clean road grime, remove tar, prep and apply a dressing for that perfect finish on the undercarriage.

What did we do;
✅️ 1st step, take off the wheel, make sure to have the correct tools on hand, especially the adapter that fits the lock - bolts.
✅️ 2nd step, check the inside of the wheel arches to determine oxidation, dirt and with that in mind make a plan what cleaners and accessories to use.
✅️ 3rd step, spray on Shiny Garage Red Devil Degreaser and agitate with Chemical Guys Best Detailing Brush to release dirt from the surface and rinse out frequently on a rinsing bucket. Also work on the brake calipers.
✅️ 4th step, for rinsing (without making a mess) use a Workhorse microfiber towel, soak it with water then wring it out and use as a 4 fold. Then wipe down the brushed areas in the wheel compartment.
✅️ 5th step, use Decon Glue & Label Remover to remove tar deposits, yes really :-) See in the video how it dissolves tar and how easily you can brush it off and rinse afterwards to have a clean result.
✅️ 6th step, use Chemical Guys Trim Clean & a Melamine Sponge to remove that last layer of stubborn oxidation from the plastic surfaces in the wheel compartment.
✅️ 7th step, use Decon IPA to wipedown all evt rests of cleaners and with that prep the surface for the finishing touch.
✅️ 8th step, use Shiny Garage Coco Tire Booster waterbased dressing and a black W-aps applicator
for a dark and sattin finish on the hard plastic parts in the wheel compartment. Let this cure for 1 or 2 minutes and wipedown with a clean and dry Workhorse microfiber towel.
✅️ 9th step, enjoy clean wheel arches with a perfect finish that are ready to fit the fresh painted summer wheels!
