Like us ADHDer's tend to do, I have been doing a deep dive into the link between C-PTSD, from long term emotional abuse, and people who have ADHD. I have been coaching individuals who have C-PTSD since 2021 and I have noticed a difference between those individuals who do not show signs of ADHD and those of us who do. People who have no signs of ADHD are able to go through the healing process and move on with their life in a way that is much different then the ones who have diagnosed or undiagnosed ADHD. Those of us who have ADHD tend to slip back into emotional flashbacks and it seems to be much harder to drop that negative inner critic.

As with many mental disorders, there are similaries between C-PTSD and ADHD. There is this negative inner voice that seems to like to beat us up when we aren't able to start or complete a task that is not stimulating enough for us. We are dreamers and we do feel as if we can do anything but at the same time, the burn out and lack of stimulation makes it hard for us to know where to begin.

Because individuals who have ADHD find it hard to not be brutally honest at times, we are prone to that emotional abuse that narcissists love to subject us to. Each child, in the game of triangulation, is treated differently and I believe that those of us who have ADHD (honest, strong intuition, truth tellers) may get abuse for it.
