How To Paint Space Marines: A Beginner's Guide

I've had a lot of great tips in the comments lately (some more helpful and constructive than others) so I thought I would share how much I've learned and grown as a painter. I Decided to paint a red space marine, similar to Blood Angels but with a metallic trim. Following all of these steps I'm able to make an absolute perfectly painted model, and it's easy!

All joking aside - I've spent a lot of time watching tutorials and would get frustrated that my miniatures would never turn out the way they were supposed to. I'd get really deflated and down on myself. But I've really been committing myself lately to practicing a lot. Only now am I beginning to feel like I'm understanding what these tutorials are saying. In addition making my own videos is helping me to improve on my painting vocabulary. This is not a criticism of pro painters and their tutorials(they're fantastic and have helped me so much!) but it's a reminder for all of us to be a little kinder to others, ourselves and encourage continuous practice not only in our painting but our every day lives. There is no perfect mini.
