በዚህ ዕለት የሚቀርበው የቅዳሴ ጸሎት የጌታችን የኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ መስቀል ያለውን ቤዛነትና የማዳን ሥራ እያሰቡ የሚከናወን ሲሆን፣ ምእመናን በጾም ወቅት የሚገኘውን ረቂቅ በረከት እንዲያገኙ ይረዳል። በዚህ የቅዳሴ መርሐ ግብር ላይ በመሳተፍ የዕለቱን ምስጋና ጸሎት ተካፋይ ይሁኑ።
