In this video, I take you along on my trek to Savandurga, located just 60km from Bangalore! Known as the largest monolith in Asia, this hill offers a challenging yet beautiful 6km climb. The trail consists of steep rock faces and ancient fort ruins, making it a paradise for adventure seekers. Reaching the peak at 1,226 meters gives you a breathtaking 360-degree view of the Arkavathi River and forest. I’ve shared the complete route details, what to pack, and the best time to start your hike. Please note that you now need to book your entry online via the Karnataka Eco-Tourism website. The rock can get very hot after 10:00 AM, so starting early is the key to a great experience! Make sure to wear shoes with excellent grip, as the granite surface can be quite slippery.
