It's "Salad Day" at The Outdoor Classroom at Central Elementary School in South Berwick, Maine. The project brings the classroom and its students outside even as it brings lessons of the world outside the classroom into the curriculum. With local food and curriculum tied together the program joins the school to the local community and shows that kids can cook and make healthy choices with their activities as well as their food. The project is supported by the Marshwood Education Foundation – MEF – which supports innovative programs.
