In their defense they can’t know a floor’s history, surrounding environment or compressive strength. This is why the contractor should be prepared to at least meet a minimum readiness threshold for their own peace of mind. After grinding, a concrete floor looks more clean and bright. That’s because the cement paste and sand have been ground into a uniform crystalline powder. After shotblasting, the difference in color should give away how much cleaner the floor really has become.

The video documents a basic de-dusting process to remove grinding dust. The floor was first vacuumed three times. The shotblaster still got it cleaner in one pass.
