Visiting the Saguaro National Park - San Diego and a night on the Hotel Queen Mary - USA 🇺🇸

Описание: This video sees the conclusion of our 2015 road trip in the American South West. We make a stop first in Saguaro National Park east of Tuscon where the desert landscape is filled with these magnificent, stately cacti and so much more. We have visited here on three trips and really enjoy the contrast with what we are used to in the far greener and much wetter UK. After crossing the deserts we descend to the Pacific Coast at San Diego and immediately aim for Balboa Park. We were by now on our last full day of the trip but still determined to enjoy every minute. We really liked the stop here and were to re-visit San Diego a few more times over subsequent years when we could appreciate the city more fully. Our final night in the US for this trip was a bit of a trip as we spent it on the Queen Mary. This great ocean liner is the last survivor of the days before air travel really took off and the Royal, the rich and the famous would travel in style across the Atlantic on board such elegant vessels. This Art Deco masterpiece now sits alongside a Long Beach quayside and has a continuing life as a historic hotel. It was quite a thrill to explore this famous liner which in its day was the fastest liner on the Southampton to New York route. It remains the only night we have spent on board a cruise ship and was a great end to our 2015 road trip.
