Deesign and Implementation of Fire Detection System Based on Matlab Image Processing

Описание: With the rapid development of computer vision technology, image processing-based fire detection systems have gained widespread attention in the field of security monitoring. This paper proposes an image processing-based fire detection system that automatically detects fire-suspected regions by performing image preprocessing, color space conversion, thresholding, and morphological analysis. First, the system uses median filtering to remove noise from the input image, enhancing the image quality. Then, the color space conversion technique is applied to transform the image from the RGB color space to the CMYK color space, and the M (magenta) and Y (yellow) channels are extracted. Next, the Otsu method is used to binarize the image, and morphological operations are applied to remove boundary noise and irrelevant regions. Through connected component analysis, the system can effectively detect fire-suspected areas and mark the fire location. Experimental results show that the method can effectively identify fire areas in different environments, with high accuracy and practicality. Finally, this paper also discusses the system's potential in fire warning and suggests directions for improvement.
