Continuing from the theme in Parashat Chayei Sarah where we learned about the transformation of the Qelipah of Yitzhaq whose soul was transformed from the feminine side to the masculine side, Parashat Toldot deals with the inner struggle Esav and Ya’aqov. In the parasha G-d told Rivqa that in her womb were two nations. G-d told Rivqa מִמֵּעַיִךְ יִפָּרֵדוּ, from her insides Esav and Ya’aqov were separated [פָּרַד]. Meaning that that as Esav and Ya’aqov developed in her womb, the spiritual energy that their souls were composed of was in opposition of each other. The Torah said מִמֵּעַיִךְ [from within you] instead of בְּמֵעַיִיךְ [in you]. This means the separation between Esav and Ya’aqov was not caused by a genetic imbalance within Rivqa.
