Rekha Gupta promised that she would talk to the Railway Ministry so that the people there can get houses. She also said that the previous Aam Aadmi Party government did a survey of this settlement in 2020, but did not take any steps. Now the BJP government is working fast in this direction. This budget of Rs 700 crore will help in providing better facilities, houses and improving the standard of living for the slum dwellers. At the same time, Rekha Gupta appealed to the slum dwellers not to be influenced by the leaders of the 'AAP' party. She said that the previous government considered the slum dwellers only as voters, but the BJP is making concrete plans to improve their lives.

Rekha Gupta on Delhi Slum Area :मुख्यमंत्री रेखा गुप्ता ने साफ कहा कि उनकी सरकार झुग्गी बस्तियों को बेवजह नहीं हटाएगी। अगर किसी कारण, जैसे रेलवे के प्रोजेक्ट, के लिए झुग्गियों को हटाना पड़ा, तो वहां रहने वाले लोगों को पक्का मकान दिया जाएगा।जैसे की , शालीमार बाग की फाटक वाली झुग्गी कैंप, जो रेलवे की जमीन पर है, वहां रेलवे आजादपुर स्टेशन का विस्तार कर रहा है। रेखा गुप्ता ने वादा किया कि वे रेल मंत्रालय से बात करेंगी ताकि वहां के लोगों को मकान मिल सके।उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि पहले की आम आदमी पार्टी की सरकार ने 2020 में इस बस्ती का सर्वे तो किया, लेकिन कोई कदम नहीं उठाया। अब बीजेपी सरकार इस दिशा में तेजी से काम कर रही है। यह 700 करोड़ रुपये का बजट झुग्गीवासियों के लिए बेहतर सुविधाएं, मकान और जीवन स्तर सुधारने में मदद करेगा।वहीँ रेखा गुप्ता ने झुग्गीवासियों से अपील की कि वे ‘आप’ पार्टी के नेताओं की बातों में न आएं। उन्होंने कहा कि पहले की सरकार ने झुग्गीवासियों को सिर्फ वोटर समझा, लेकिन बीजेपी उनकी जिंदगी बेहतर बनाने के लिए ठोस योजनाएं बना रही है।
