With 6233 'Duchess of Sutherland' working Vintage Trains 'Welsh Marches Express' from Tyseley to Hereford and 'Tornado' working 'The Cheshireman' to Chester platforms were busy at Craven Arms, today the 13th November 2021.
Running within 4 mins of correct time at Dorrington as the Duchess came into view it was clear something somewhere was wrong, as she coasted to a standill at the platform.
News circulated of a lineside fatality in the Ludlow area but the desire to get a picture got ahead of some individuals better judgement as passengers stretched their legs on the platform and spilled out onto the line.
The Duchess was put to sleep for an hour, topped up with water from a nearby hydrant and after a litle TLC from the crew bought back to life and eventually got back underway 134 minutes down.
