Описание: We joined @OIPAPartanna, to visit their cat shelter @ilgattifugio. This shelter is a refuge from life on the streets, built by the Partanna volunteers as there was no safe space for rescued cats.

While we were there, it was business as usual as they did their regular and mandatory WhatsApp video calls for adoption. They work hard to get these cats adopted as soon as possible, a never-ending task of rescuing and rehoming. They are up against the clock as many cats are not neutered and keep having kittens.

It was clear that Sicily's animal welfare laws were slightly less stringent than Italy's, which require all animals to be microchipped, whereas Sicily doesn't. However, OIPA Partanna makes sure that they microchip all the animals, as well as providing vaccinations.
