Today, Senator Ben Cardin joined his colleagues to ask for Unanimous Consent to pass the #FUTUREAct to reauthorize federal funds for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) which lapsed over a month ago.
Without the #FUTUREAct Maryland’s HBCUs - Bowie State, Coppin State, Morgan State, and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore -stand to lose $4.2 million funds for academic services, staffing, and critical infrastructure needs.
