Ginger is just about the cutest little thing isn't she!? From her bright-eyed look to her unique markings- she is a goofy girl, loving pup, and ready for her forever family! She’s currently fostered in a loving home with two dogs- a chill senior Yorkie and a calm English Bulldog- and although they are not interested in matching her playfulness she does have a chihuahua friend who visits and that’s when she gets a chance to play. She loves wrestling with him and is very mindful of their slight size difference.
Breed and birthdate are details we cannot guarantee given she is a rescue but we estimate her to be 10-months-old, possibly a Shepherd/Husky mix, and she weighs 41 lbs. Its easy to see she has loyal confidence to her with a fair amount goofy puppy energy and gentle affection to give. Her foster describes her perfectly:
“She’s in her puppy stage, full of energy when she’s up, but so cuddly when it’s time to rest. She’s incredibly affectionate and learning fast - she wants to please and loves her treats!”
That eagerness to learn shines through in everything she does. Ginger’s already working on her commands and picking them up quickly. She’s house-trained, crate-trained, and although she’s not a big fan of loading into the car, she rides well once inside.
Ginger loves toys, especially ropes, tennis balls, and plushies, and she’s happiest when she can chase or chew something fun. She can be a little shy when meeting big dogs for the first time - she’s used to smaller companions - but once she feels safe, she softens up and joins in. With people, she’s warm and social, excited to make new friends. Plus, she is a cat-friendly, currently living peacefully with cats! When she met our house cat we saw the same thing her foster sees- a respectful approach with a touch of playfulness that she is hoping they match. A dog-savvy cat would be A+ in her book but of course, she will respect a cat that is not interested in her.
Ginger will thrive with positive guidance, daily playtime, and structure to keep her smart mind and active body busy. She’d do beautifully in a home with a confident dog that enjoys playing as much as they do napping. She is a good candidate if you are looking for a one-and-only dog but that just means you better be ready to play with her!
This girl is an absolutely adorable companion that promises good-company and good-times by your side! Adopt her today!
