Our fully welded Wavin HDPE soil, waste and vent systems offer exceptionally secure connections and high chemical resistance.
You can join pipes and fittings using both butt welding and electrofusion joints.
This video will show you how to fuse pipes and fittings using butt welding.
The essential requirements to achieving good quality joints:
1. Sufficient heat
2. Sufficient pressure
3. Sufficient welding and cooling time
4. Clean-to-clean material
First, clamp both ends in the welding machine and ensure correct alignment. Trim both pipe ends using the planer. Wipe both ends to ensure clean to clean material bonding. Now insert the plate heater and put force on the plate to ensure full contact. Reduce force until nearly zero, but keep contact with the heater plate. remover the heater plate (For fusion parameters, please check the instruction manual on www.wavin.co.uk/hdpe). Slowly apply welding force and maintain for required cooling time. Then inspect the weld bead for evenness.
