A much-used handbook contains the signature of B.P. Fraser, dated 1908. In those years, Fraser was raising his large family at Rosebank Plantation on the Pee Dee River. Fraser spent his childhood at the plantation, then moved to Scotland upon his father's death, returning to the Lowcountry to fight in the civil war and ultimately buy his old home back.
