gayo hari mo pe jadu dar
(A Gopi says to her friend "Shyamsundar has cast some spell on me")

haun yamuna asnaan karan gayi, tahan raha nandkumar
(I had gone to the banks of Yamuna river for a bath. Shyamsundar was also there)

piya drig piya-ras-roop madhuri, drigan bachaya nihar
(My eyes drank the bliss of His infinite beauty and charm. I enjoyed this bliss without Him knowing. In other words, I saw Him, but He did not notice me seeing Him. Our eyes did not meet.)

ras-lampat drig pat ghoonghat pat, karan chahat janu par
(My eyes, which were so intoxicated by bliss, were as if trying to tear through the veil I was wearing)

jab ghat bhari, chali ghar, natvar tab, chat kankari dayi mar
(I still did not let my eyes meet His. I filled my pitcher and started walking my way home. Shyamsundar followed me and hit my pitcher with a small stone, creating a hole!)

phooteo ghat tooteo ghunghat pat, auchak drig bhaye char
(Startled by the sound, I looked behind to see who did this, without caring to hide my eyes behind my veil. As soon as I turned around, my eyes looked into the eyes of Shyamsundar)

uta 'kripalu' nagari ita gagari, bahat prem jal dhar
(Shri Kripalu Ji depicts the incomparable beauty of that scene saying "From the front, tears of love were flowing from the gopi's eyes and from the back, a stream of water was flowing from the pitcher". Water was flowing from both sides)
