Long before the recent controversy surrounding Kirk Cameron, the late Michael Heiser was already publicly arguing that annihilationism is biblically rational, historically defensible, and well within the bounds of Christian orthodoxy. He did so repeatedly, across podcasts, interviews, and published works—dating back at least to 2015.

In this video, we walk carefully through Heiser’s own words on hell, death, and final judgment. We look at his treatment of conditional immortality, the “death of death,” prophetic language, and why annihilation often made more sense to him than eternal conscious torment—even while he affirmed ECT as a viable orthodox option.

Along the way, we also note that more recent voices, such as Gavin Ortlund and Wes Huff, have echoed the same core conclusion: annihilationism is not heresy, even if one ultimately disagrees with it.
