Last year I had the opportunity to play a round of golf in Los Angeles with 3 time Major Champion Padraig Harrington.

After watching my swing for over 12 holes he gave me the best bit of unsolicited advice EVER. It is a drill I thought was pretty off the wall at the time but like a lot of things in golf it isn't just the drill of the tip but the student has to be ready to hear it.

Not until a year later when I met Monte Scheinblum and starting working with him did Padraig's simple and powerful drill REALLY start to make sense and now it is a key part of my journey to BE BETTER at golf.

The drill is this.

Tee up your ball
Then 1 foot in front of your ball and 6 inches or so to the inside, sink a tee very low down into the ground.

Then take 3 practice swings where you are set up to your teed up ball but you sweep the grass in front of the ball over the sunk down tee. (you set up to the inside of your teed up ball)

Do it all without moving your head twoards the target (that is cheating)

If you are a STUCK golfer, you will not be able to do this.

So you will learn that you have to get your arms working FAST and in fron of your body (not stuck behind your boady) on the downswing to be able to sweep the grass in front of the ball

THEN hit the ball with the same intention of fast arms and staying down IN the shot!
