A rich fusion of ethereal wall-of-sound soul, gritty indie rock, and dreamy shoegaze - Cam Forrester’s ‘What’s Going On Upstairs?’ is an evocative, semi-autobiographical concept album tracing a deeply personal journey from childhood neurodivergence and alienation, through the turbulence of adolescent heartbreak and drug addiction, to eventual recovery and peace.
The album was the result of a five-year, self-funded recording process, beginning in 2014 as an EP initially titled ‘A Burning Soul’.
Gradually completed outside of Forrester’s main work commitments and first released in 2019, it stands as a testament to perseverance, creative vision, and the healing power of music.
