Route H13 has been operated by Sovereign from its Harrow garage since 1990, originally starting with breadvans before being operated with blue and cream liveried Pointer Darts. Upon the purchase of Sovereign by Blazefield Holdings in 2004 making it part of Transdev, the remaining of these Pointers were painted into the red and grey livery already on existing Transdev London United buses. In 2009, Transdev retained route H13 with brand new Enviro200s, which continued to be allocated to the route upon the sale of London Sovereign to French-owned RATP group in 2014. This also included the order of one extra bus, which was DLE26 or DLE30026. However, at approximately 12pm on Monday 21st December 2018, it was announced that Metroline had won the contract for route H13 from their Uxbridge garage with existing Enviro200s cascaded from route 214, which appeared in the form of DE1152-1155 and DE1320-1322. The takeover took place on 7th September 2019 after 29 years of London Sovereign operation, having come around very quickly from the announcement date.
This video is dedicated to the route's operation under both Metroline and London Sovereign, which has been planned since the tender was announced.
The title "A Sovereignty for Uxbridge" is a play on words, as it was previously with London Sovereign and it's now run from Uxbridge garage.
And without further ado, enjoy the video!
