Step 1 – Verify the company itself
“Every legal company in Serbia must be registered with the Serbian Business Registers Agency, also known as APR. The good news is—you can check it online, for free. Just go to the APR website, type in the company name or its registration number. If the company is missing, suspended, or deregistered, your invitation is automatically suspicious.” Go to https://www.apr.gov.rs.

Step 2 – Check the official invitation format
“Under Serbian visa rules, an invitation from a legal company must include the company’s full name, address, and official stamp or seal. It must clearly show your name, passport number, and the purpose of your visit. And it has to be signed by an authorized person—usually the director. If any of these are missing, consider that a red flag.”

Step 3 – Contact the company directly
“Don’t just trust the email or phone number written in the invitation. Go to APR or the company’s official website, get their real contact details, and call or email them yourself. Politely ask if they really issued the invitation or contract in your name. A genuine company will confirm quickly. A fake one will ignore you or give confusing answers.”

Appeal Process
Step 1 – Know your deadline
“You only have 8 days from the date you receive your refusal letter to submit an appeal. If you miss that window, the decision becomes final and you’ll have to wait before applying again.”
Step 2 – Where to file
“You don’t send the appeal directly to Belgrade. You submit it at the same Serbian embassy or consulate that refused you. They will then forward it to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Serbia for a second review.”
Step 3 – How to write the appeal
“The appeal must be in Serbian language, written formally like a letter. It must mention the reference number of your refusal decision, your name, and explain clearly why the refusal was wrong. Most importantly, you need to attach new evidence that proves your case—for example:
• Proof of strong ties to your home country, like a job contract, property, or family.
• Financial documents like bank statements.
• Clear invitation letters with company stamps and verified details.
• Return ticket reservations and proof of accommodation.
