In this aerial video we explore the spectacular mountain village of Guadalest, located in the province of Alicante Province in eastern Spain.
Guadalest is widely considered one of the most beautiful and unique villages in Spain. Perched high on a rocky mountain ridge, the town overlooks the stunning Guadalest Reservoir, with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and countryside.
Dominating the skyline is the historic Castillo de San José, a fortress originally built by the Moors in the 11th century. The village itself is accessed through a tunnel carved directly through the rock, giving visitors a truly unique entrance to this historic place.

The village of Guadalest dates back to the Moorish period when it was built as a strategic fortress overlooking the valley.
After the Reconquista in the 13th century, the village became an important defensive stronghold for the region.
Today Guadalest is one of Spain’s most visited historic villages and is famous for its castle, narrow streets, museums, and the incredible views over the turquoise waters of the Guadalest reservoir.

El pueblo de Guadalest tiene sus orígenes en la época musulmana, cuando fue construido como una fortaleza estratégica que dominaba el valle.
Tras la Reconquista en el siglo XIII, Guadalest se convirtió en una importante fortaleza defensiva.
Hoy en día es uno de los pueblos históricos más visitados de España, famoso por su castillo, sus calles estrechas y las impresionantes vistas del embalse de Guadalest.
