"If you choose, you can keep the commandments..." (Sirach 15:15).
In this homily, we explore the profound connection between the First Reading from Sirach and Jesus' teaching in the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:17-37). God has placed before us fire and water, life and death—and the choice is ours.
But choosing "life" isn't just about avoiding sin; it's about choosing to love fully. Jesus challenges us to move beyond the minimum requirements of the law and embrace a higher standard of righteousness.
