Lieutenant Paul Gallagher with the Canton Police Department was the ranking officer on scene at 34 Fairview, in charge of the processing, securing, and collecting evidence. He was at the scene for about 45 minutes after his arrival at 7 AM. He then returned to the Albert home around 9AM to accompany Sergeant Lank on his interview of Jen McCabe. After the case had very quickly been turned over to the Massachusetts State Police (MSP), lead detective Trooper Proctor never interviewed Lt. Gallagher about what he did in this case. He was only interviewed for the FIRST time just weeks before the beginning of this trial by the District Attorney’s Office.
