Here’s a few quick tips on how to unload your front end position & reduce strain on neck & shoulders while riding…
✅Engage your Lat muscles.
Not sure how⁉️🧐
Set your shoulders back & think about opening your chest by squeezing from the shoulder blades…
✅Check your shoulder position-
Are your shoulders turning in so the front of the shoulder is pointed forward⁉️🧐
Try to pull back & have shoulder heads pointed out to the SIDE more, not forward.👌
✅Tuck that chin & Check your neck!
Is your head jutting forward & tilted up⁉️
Think about tucking your chin in closer to your chest so that your ears are more directly over your shoulders NOT in front.
✅Flip that cap 🆙
Is your visor on your helmet or cycling cap making it hard to see⁉️😎
Flip the cap up OR remove sun visor if on MTB helmet & you don’t have enough range of motion in your neck to maintain a proper chin tuck & still safely see…
✅Do Work OFF the bike‼️
A lot of cyclists have stiff upper backs & necks and or weak upper body & core muscles- modifying your bike fit can only do so much - you need to work on YOU.
