Progress is coming pile-by-pile on the Clyde Road Upgrade! We’re widening the existing bridge over the Princes Freeway and to achieve this we’re driving the massive bridge piles with our construction partner @Seymour Whyte.
But what exactly is piling?
We took a trip to Berwick to find out what it takes to shore this bridge up. Once we’re done with piling we can then start looking skyward and begin craning in and installing 14 massive bridge beams weighing 48 TONNES each!
But it all starts at ground level as we break ground and push the piles to get this job done!
