Описание: I couldn’t help but notice that there’s no one doing education for the deaf community in American Sign Language about circumcision. I have been practicing American Sign Language since I was a little girl and through my process of healing my trauma ASL was very useful for me to be able to communicate non-verbally. It became even more meaningful to me when I learned how the Broca’s part of the brain is damaged from developmental trauma, which is intimately connected to our ability to speak.

ASL was always a way that I could express myself with ease comparatively to being able to talk and open up sharing information. ❤️

Today I became excited to see two elderly gentlemen signing to one another communicating joyfully as I was walking back to my car after a big hike. I asked them if it was OK to ask them a question and if they would forgive me for asking but to teach me how to sign this word. It was a very touching experience. I wanted to bless him at the end and then I realized I didn’t know how to say that so I asked him if he could teach me how to say that one too. Finger spelling has gotten me to a lot of different places. I hope to continue my education in American sign language , possibly even become certified.
