Toxic Vegetables? Tests Find Lead Beyond Limits In Bengaluru Samples

Описание: Fresh tests by a joint panel following directions from the National Green Tribunal have confirmed the presence of lead and banned pesticides in vegetable samples collected from markets and farms in and around Bengaluru.

Out of 72 samples tested, 19 contained lead beyond permissible limits under Food Safety norms. Shockingly, one “organic” brinjal sample showed nearly 20 times the allowed limit.

The findings have raised serious food safety concerns across Karnataka, with authorities recommending wider studies and greater farmer awareness.
